sneak previews 4

Tonight the mayor of Irvine was there and she spoke of the great community of the city and wanted us to know that many students sat here prior to these Monday night shindigs. The movie was Sweet Land and once again I really enjoyed the film. It was a subtle love story about a German mail order bride and a man farming his land in Minnesota in the 1920's, right after the first world war. The people were not accepting of her because she was German and spoke only a couple of millimeters of english. They slowly grewer closer and at some point fell in love. When they held hands it was more romantic than any scene in any other movie. The old ladies and Heidy were glad they did not show them kiss or bed together. I thought it worked just the way it was but I also do not think a kiss at the end would have killed the movie either.

Guess who was our special guest. It was Tommy from Shawshank Redemption. He was one of the many producers of this film and such a real guy. Most people just call him Gil Bellows but I will stick with Tommy. He spoke of doing what you love even though few will actually watch this film. You do one for the pocket and one for the heart.

When I finally got home my nose was red. It was that cold.
