We arrived only an hour before closing time so we had to hurry with the harness and the shoes as we had an entire wall of new routes. Last quarter was rather disappointing and Howie promised me good things this go around. It was overwhelming, like getting a tray full of all of your favorite desserts and not knowing where to begin. You just want to take a bite out of everything just so you know how each item will taste. I wanted to climb everything all at once so I knew what each was like. We only made it through 5 climbs each which leaves many routes still unknown. My first was a 5.10a that Howie promised me, green and stemmy. Stemmies are my favorite. There are no easy middle wall climbs which makes me a bit sad, as those are always my favorite. Finger tips are numb and my toes are still recovering... I cannot wait to return for more.
