I felt like we were in Final Destination part 1,207 except instead of being destined to die she was supposed to be out of town or stay home or workout or something other than what we wanted to do. I blame her because everything was going as planned until she showed up. It was a Saturday afternoon and she decided not to go down to San Diego and I decided not to grade. We carefully picked our outfits to go for a little hike in Laguna but by the time we arrived it was a half hour after the trail closed. We then took the long way to Bolsa Chica to have a low key walk around among the birds and the rays. We only got as far as the end of the bridge when we encountered the barrier to mark the spot where the restoration project began. At this point it felt as though our entire day was spent in the car so we were kicking ourselves for not just staying home or giving up after the first attempt. The hip hop songs on the way home made us think we should go dancing that night at the sutra lounge. She decided to get a new shirt for the occasion.
C: Let's go to the spectrum.
Me: The spectrum? Really? You want to go to the place that is the furthest away?
C: yes
Me: Okay!
So another trek across the county but there was no shirt she found adequate and we were at the spectrum on a saturday night dressed to hike.
When we arrived back home I immediately
At least we had each other.

porbably a wise choice, as evidenced by the unsuccesdful attempts at fun leading up to the evening. corn is bad? at least it is an allowed item on the diet list.
