Picture: J, Melissa and P approach the favorite sushi restaurant of the Portuguese. J stops to visit coincidental friends, Melissa learns of the 40 minute wait and P visits the restroom. Tell it hello. Melissa approaches J and friends and hovers, kills some time by walking around observing the neighboring establishments, awkwardly returns to J and unknown friends.
Enter P.
Jonathan: "P!!! This is Roberto, a friend of my friend from high school. And this is _____________"
Words are exchanged. Smiles are abundant. Conversation ensues.
J: "Oh. And this is Melissa."
Me [unenthusiastic by this point]: "hello" [weak smile]
Welcome to dinner. You need not make an effort to include me for I do not care to be involved.
How they eat that? God alone knows.
