solitare

Do you ever get the feeling that something you did actually paid off? There's something tangible? Well, I had that experience after receiving my first electric bill in, I don't know, forever? The energy-efficient refrigerator, the energy-saving light bulbs, the sitting in the dark, the charging batteries mostly at school, unplugging of unused electronics and minimizing the fan blowing. $8.78. Granted, I have absolutely nothing to compare it to but it sounds pretty damn cheap to me.

I have officially lived here for one full month as of today. It seems like forever ago we were putting together the bed and having our first slumber party. Living alone is really strange and I do not think it is for me. I have no reason to wear pants or do the dishes in a timely manner. No reason not to sit in the dark on the living room floor with all forms of entertainment turned off. For some reason I still do not sit on the couch. I think it is because there is not a table for which to prop my feet. I think. I cannot come up with a better explanation for preferring the floor of which I found a giant cockroach on just last week.

But now I must find a dim light and begin my homework and begin two more months of living alone.
